# How Prototemplate is built > How the hub is built and changed: its routes and the deck, the skills, scripts and gates, the SEO system and the docs template. This tab explains how its parts are built and what a change to each one touches. ## Routes [#routes] The routes, the shell every hub page renders in, and the book page standard. The gallery at `/` , the `/d/` directions and the production mirror. The 93 slides, the viewer around them and the build that serves `/deck` . ## Tooling [#tooling] The curated GT skills, their contract and how they install. The build scripts and the files they write. Every script in the repository and what it does. ## What a change touches [#what-a-change-touches] A page, a document or a skill appears in several hand-kept lists, and a change updates every list that names it in the same commit. The build fails when a page that includes its file by headings leaves one out. | | A skill | `skills//SKILL.md` to the contract, with `references/sources.md` citing every line; its row in the Skills table of `README.md`; its slug in `ORDER` of `scripts/build/skills.mjs`; then `pnpm build:skills`, which writes `src/lib/skills.ts` and `skills/README.md`, and the installer's dry run | `pnpm lint:skills` fails a skill off the contract, a body over 24,000 bytes and a stale `src/lib/skills.ts` or `skills/README.md`. `pnpm lint:registries` checks the contract too. | | A direction | An entry in `DIRECTIONS` of `src/lib/directions.ts`, its route under `src/app/d//`, its first fold captured in both themes under `public/shots/light/` and `public/shots/dark/`, then `pnpm build:thumbs` | `pnpm lint:registries` checks the expression that finds the first exploration, which every browser gate reads.
